We had an extremely busy Saturday, like most families.  We took a day trip to Baltimore to attend a memorial service for my husband’s grandfather.  Since we don’t get there too often, we also decided to visit my grandmom and then make a stop at our friends’ new house.  Baltimore is about 2+ hours away from us.  Not a bad drive but with two kids under 3, sometimes things can get a little harried.  As long as I have snacks, I can usually keep my kids at bay.  So you can imagine how thankful I was to receive a big red package from Ella’s Kitchen, just in time for our trip!

Note the little arm reaching inside.  She was excited since she loves their pouches!  I packed those babies up in our Ella’s Kitchen/TerraCycle lunchbag that we won in a photo contest and we were set to go on our trip!

The thing I love about Ella’s Kitchen is that their products are USDA organic and don’t contain GMO’s (genetically modified ingredients).  They are very handy for on the go and are just downright tasty!  Ella’s Kitchen doesn’t dilute the flavors and they don’t add water.  All of the complex ingredients also ensure that my kids are getting a well-rounded palate at an early age! They come in brightly colored packaging, with tasty combinations that are sure to make any kid ask for ‘mo!’  😉   I know my kids enjoy them!

I like the pouches because sometimes I can’t control what foods we eat on the road because of what’s available but at least I know that their snacks were healthy and tasty.  Plus, they can eat these with minimal supervision.  The baby can’t even eat solid foods yet so these are perfect for him.  Yes, that is a boy baby.  Please excuse the pink Pooh Bear bib leftover from my daughter.

Ella’s Kitchen offers a wide variety of choices for all tastes and ages too!  From First Tastes for your baby, up to Toddler Meals.  We received The Green One, an apple, pear, kiwi, banana smoothie that my daughter chose first.  My son ate the Pears, Peas and Broccolli Ella’s 1 pouch, which is dairy and wheat-free.  He has a milk allergy so this really fit the bill.  We also received an apples, green beans and raisins pouch and two Yum Yummy Apple and Ginger Baby Cookies.  We knew we would enjoy those since we have a box of the Yum Yummy Milk & Vanilla Baby Cookies in the cupboard already!  My daughter also enjoys the Mangoes and Carrots Nibbly Fingers Snack Bars.

Our trip went very well since we were prepared.  It was literally an all day trip too, with us leaving at 9am and not getting home until 11:30pm.  The kids were such troopers and we all had a good visit with family and friends.

This Friday, I am posting about a website that I really enjoy called BzzAgent.  BzzAgent is a site that send you free products and coupons so that you can try something and then ‘buzz’ about it to your friends/neighbors/family/etc.  You report your actions and then your BzzScore goes up.  Thus gaining you access to more campaigns.  I have been on the site for a few years now and I have a BzzScore of 8.3 out of 10.  Currently, I am on campaigns for Glade WaxMelts and Plugins Scented Oil Customizables and Special K Coffee House Breakfast Shakes.

I have been on campaigns in the past for Unreal candy, Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut Cereal, Fiber One Protein Cereals, Afrin Nasal Spray, Green Mountain Coffee, Schick Hydra razors and more.  I love this site and I enjoy answering their quick surveys.  I also like talking to people about new products and sharing coupons. It takes time to do the actions but it is really fruitful if you are willing to put in the effort!

Like I stated above, you get a BzzScore, which is a number from 1 to 10 determining how active you are on the site.  The higher you your score, the more campaigns are offered to you.  It’s explained in more detail on the website too.  Check it out.  I get a lot of free stuff from this site and if you are willing to put in the time, you can too.  Please tell them that I (Stacy Lane) sent you!  Have a great weekend!

If you are anything like me, you hate having to pay full price and commit to beauty products that you’ve never even tried.  I don’t like paying full price for anything, let alone something that I am taking a chance on.  That’s where Beauty Box 5 comes in!  Beauty Box 5 is a subscription service that sends out deluxe samples of beauty products each month at a FRACTION of the cost.  It allows you to try before you buy the full size and it’s exciting getting a new box every month!   Here is the box that I received:

See, it’s wrapped up like a little present and it has awesome stuff inside!  The first product I tried was the LA Fresh Travel Lite Facial Cleansing Wipes.  They smell so fresh and they are great at removing my makeup.  They are in a cute little pack and I immediately put it in my travel bag for this weekend.  They came right in time!  They condition as they cleanse and are good for all skin types.   They contain vitamin e, aloe and cucumber, which are all good at de-stressing your skin too!

The next items I used were the Coolway Shampoo & Conditioner set.  It was a great sized sample and I can use it more than once before running out.  They smell very natural and have natural ingredients.  They have no parabens, sulfates or pthalates in them either (bad stuff).  They claimed to cool, cleanse & hydrate.  I also liked that the tubes were sealed so they wouldn’t bust open during shipping.  I like the set and it made my hair nice and shiny.  But my hair tends to run on the oily side so I won’t be purchasing it anytime soon.  It would be great for when I used to dye my hair though.  Dying always dries hair out so much and this set says that it’s safe for color-treated hair.

I incorporated the OFRA lipgloss plumper into my daily routine!  It’s such a pretty color (sultry) and I think it would look good on anyone.  I am interested to see the other colors that OFRA offers.

Last but certainly not least (since it was my favorite) was the Nubar Vanilla Cuticle Oil.  This was a great choice for right now.  Winter really takes its toll on my hands.  I open a lot of boxes at work so my hands are so dry.  My cuticles are horrendous.  I used this overnight and I noticed a big difference!  My cuticles were softer and the skin around my nails looked a lot better.  Plus, it smells wonderful.  A nice treat at bedtime!

I’ll be the first to admit it.  When I grow my hair longer, I tend to put it up in a ponytail because it’s so much easier to take care of.  I have wavy hair and since I take showers at night, when I wake up my hair is a bit of a nightmare sometimes.  Because of this, I always like to use my flat iron to tame my mane.  It doesn’t take too long and the results are so much better than a ponytail.  I recently received the J’Adore Vox Box from Influenster, a site that sends boxes of free products in exchange for your reviews or opinions.  Imagine my excitement when I saw John Frieda Frizz Ease Flat Iron Spray!  This sounded like the answer to my first world problem!  haha!

John Frieda Frizz Ease Flat Iron Spray claims to keep your hair straight for 3 days or until your next shampoo, whichever comes first.  I chose to try it last weekend since we were busy and my hair was the last thing on my mind.  Here’s a before picture to show you that I’m not lying.  I’m not wearing makeup so you’ve been warned.

The way it works is you shower as usual and while your hair is wet or damp, you spray the flat iron spray throughout your hair.  You brush to distribute, then blow dry.  After that, you use your flat iron as you normally would.  That sets the product.

Sorry about the foggy mirror photos.  For some reason, I forgot the camera has that little reverse button, making life a LOT easier.  You can all have a laugh at my expense.

Anyhoo, the photos show me applying the product and then each day after.  It lasted two days for me, since my hair is oily and I have to wash it more frequently.  I was pleased.  It was one less thing I had to worry about.  My hair stayed straight, after sleeping on it and after a fun-filled, jam packed weekend.  It was nice and soft too. I hate it when products make your hair feel crunchy and stiff.  If you too, use a flat iron, then John Frieda Flat Iron Spray makes sense!

Which hair products do you use everyday?  Is there a product you can’t live without?

This week, I received free magazines from different sites (subscriptions).  I won a free pack of YES to Carrots facial wipes from a Facebook contest.  A free snack bar from Splash (a site that resembles Klout).  I won two free bath salts from Twitter (@JoyfulBathCo).  I got free allergy medicine from BzzAgent.  I also got free feminine products from PinchMe.  Enjoy your week, everyone!
