I am crazy when it comes to touching my eye.  In college, I almost blinded myself with a wire hanger (It’s a long story).  So ever since, I can’t wear contacts; sometimes I have a problem with eyeliner; you get the idea.  I was also born with every short eyelashes.  My favorite mascaras are the ones that actually make my eyelashes visible!  When I was a kid, I remember my mom using an eyelash curler.  I tried it once and almost pulled what little lashes that I had out!  Ever since, I have stayed away from them since I thought it was a product for people that had more coordination than myself.  I was recently given the Crave Naturals Whiplash Eyelash curler and I won’t lie, I kind of cringed at first thought. Although, I am in love with their packaging!

I opened the box and I greeted a pink curler and 5 replacement pads.  It was very girly and very cute!  I also liked how the handle has a little hook so they stay closed and take up less space.

I decided to suck it up and try it. After all, the eyelash curler incident happened over 15 years ago.  I took my time, followed the directions and my eyelashes look amazing!  Don’t get my wrong, I am still a little scared every time I try it, but I have been using it everyday and I just try to be very careful.  Here is a photo of my lashes after using Crave Naturals Whiplash Eyelash Curler and my drugstore mascara.

I am very happy with the results. They have a sturdy handle and they come with a guarantee.  They are under $20 too!  If you want to try it yourself, you can find Crave Naturals Whiplash Mascara here.

Like on Facebook and follow them on Twitter too.

Have you ever used an eyelash curler?

Are you tired of having to buy a ton of cords for your iPhone/iPad/Iwhatever?  I was.  It felt like my cord was never working right after a few months of heavy use.  I am telling you that I found the solution to your charging cord problems.  It lies in the form of the Apple Certified 6 feet White Lightning Cable.  This cord is a total game changer.  It’s 6 feet long, thicker than the normal cord and just a better quality cord.

I noticed a difference the second I plugged my phone in to charge.  The thing I hated most about my cord, besides the constant need for replacement, was the short length. We live in an older house with a smaller number of outlets in every room.  This cord allows me to put my phone up on my nightstand.  I would also be able to charge my iPad while I’m in bed, using it!

This cord would make a fantastic stocking stuffer or gift for anyone on your list. The Apple Certified 6 feet White Lightning Cable has a Premium Quality Guarantee. It is compatible with every Apple Lightning connector device, charge and sync for : iPhone 5/5S/5C, iPad 4, iPad Mini, iPod Touch 5, and iPod Nano 7. It also supports Mac and Windows PCs.  It also has a One Year Guarantee!  This is what caught my eye.  I won’t have to buy another cord for a year?!?!  Sign me up.

That’s a lot of cord and it’s so thick and durable.  It’s under $20 and it lasts for a year.  I really enjoy it.  So the next time you have a phone cord break, consider the Apple Certified 6 feet White Lightning Cable.  You can find it here.

Am I the only one?  Do your cords always break too?!?!

I have two young kids as most of you know by now.  Needless to say, when we go somewhere, I have to take seemingly endless amounts of stuff with us.  Everyone needs a juice and a snack.  We need a change of clothes, diapers for the baby.  You get the picture.   I have managed to cut down the amount to fit inside one of those smaller 31 bags, unless I’m not going with them.  If I’m not present, then that opens a whole different can of worms.

I recently received the Stroller Organizer by Children N’ Us right before we attended a church festival.  I was almost giddy when I packed it up and put it in the car the next day.

It was awesome.  It has two insulated pockets for drinks, a big open pocket for all the little nonsense that you need to carry, and a cell phone pocket.  There is even a handy pocket for my keys.  It pretty much eliminated my need for a diaper bag!  It has adjustable  straps in order to attach it to your stroller.  It’s easy to use and accessible to anyone.

See, my Harvey Seatbelt bag?  I love that thing and I got it for $30!  But that’s a different post.  😉

The last thing I need during an event is to be rummaging around in various bags, trying to find something.  The Stroller Organizer keeps everything in my site and within reach!  Do you want to hear the best part?  It’s under $20!

The Stroller Organizer is going to top my list of Baby Shower Gifts.  I think any new mom or mom of small children would benefit from this organizer.  It really made my day a lot less stressful.  When someone started whining, I was right on it!  It was really nice since that day was extremely hot.  My family doesn’t do well with heat so the less we carry , the better.

I have always been a fan of shave gel.  What’s not to like?!?  It moisturizes and gives a smoother shave.  It smells great and a little goes a long way.  I also like it because it’s the best product to use to avoid razor burn.  I’ve been using it since I first started shaving my legs.  When I received a can of Skintimate Mandarin Burst, I was actually excited to shave my legs that night.

As you can see, my pug, Roger, was also excited to be in the picture.  He’s sitting beside me while I type too.

Did you know that you can also use shave gel to get tough stains out of clothing?  Just lather up and rub on the stain. Same goes for stains on your carpet.  My kids love to ‘paint’ with it too.  Just squirt some in a resealable bag and they can paint until their heart is content.  See? It’s handy to have around.  You can usually find a coupon for them too.  So stock up when you find a good buy!  Enjoy!

Be sure to try Skintimate Mandarin Burst, ladies!  I am really enjoying this kind. Combined with my lemon shampoo, I smell divine right out of the shower.

Do you have any alternative uses for shave gel?

Disclaimer:  I received a complimentary can of shave gel from CrowdTap.  No other compensation was received.  All comments and/or opinions are my own.

My husband is on a low carb diet and it’s challenging at times.  I love carbs.  I wish there was an all-carb diet but we can’t live in a perfect world, now can we?  Two things that my husband misses the most are milk and sweet stuff.  I feel bad that we can’t always buy the carb smart ice cream so I thought I would give this almond milk a try.  I used the Vita Nut Milk Bag.  It came with an e-book with tons of recipes to make with your bag!  It’s also tear-resistant, non-clogging and has a rounded bottom so there’s no waste!  It doesn’t get moldy either, when you follow the instructions on cleaning it.

I wanted to see if it was worth the time, effort and cost to make my own almond milk since you can also buy the ready made stuff in the store.  I spent about $7 buying the supplies but I have a ton of cocoa left over and about 1/2 cup of the almonds left.  I already had the other ingredients.  It’s not hard to make. It just takes some planning since the almonds have to soak for 12-24 hours first and since it takes a bit of work.

Homemade Chocolate Almond Milk

1 cup pure almonds, soaked in water for 12-24 hours

1/4 cup cocoa powder, unsweetened

3 1/2 cups cold water

1 tablespoon vanilla

sweetener to taste, I used 2 packets of Truvia

pinch of salt

Remember to soak your almonds for 12-14 hours.  Drain and rinse very well.  Put the almonds into a blender and add the rest of your ingredients.

nutmilkbag2

Blend on high until it looks milky.  Put your bag over top a large bowl and pour in the almond mixture.

nutmilkbag3

Then gently work the mixture to the bottom of the bag, while squeezing the bag.

nutmilkbag4

Take the milk in the bowl and put in an airtight container, in the fridge.  It should make about 4 cups and keep for about 5 days.   Enjoy!

It was pretty tasty and I think my husband will like it as a treat.  I thought this was worth the money since I can add my own sweetener and I know exactly what’s in it. I also have most of the ingredients now and I only have to buy almonds.  This bag is awesome!  I can use it for so many other things too!  I can make my own juice or cold press coffee.  I can make my own cheese (I’m going to attempt it).  The bag pretty much pays for itself.
