I love the look of artificial lashes when done properly. I, however, can’t seem to get it together when it comes to stuff like that. My sister is the makeup artist and she always helps me on special occasions. But sometimes, I get the itch to try something new. In this case it was the Kiss Looks So Natural Lashes that was included in my Influenster J’Adore Vox Box.
They do look natural and pretty but that’s only if you manage not to glue your eyelid shut! Seroiusly, it was sticky all night. I think I put the glue in the wrong spot or something. Here’s my tutorial.
I followed the instructions but I guess I need the ‘lashes for dummies’ version. I like the way it looks in the last photo but if you look very closely, it’s not on my eyelid all the way. Not to mention the fact that I look like I just survived a fist to the face in that last photo! I probably won’t be trying this particular version of Kiss Lashes again. I have used Kiss Lashes in the past and I have been relatively successful. Not this time though. I’ll stick (no pun intended) to Kiss Lashes for special occasions only and I’ll really set a large window of time for them.

After a full day of watching my two kids and a full night arranging fixtures at a department store, I am tired, to say the least. Everyone is asleep when I get home so that’s my time to unwind and enjoy myself. My ‘me time,’ in other words. Some nights, I go online or read a book. Sometimes, I read our local weekly paper without any interruptions. Sounds nice, doesn’t it? Last night, I decided to break out the Boots Botanics Ionic Clay Mask that I received in my J’Adore Vox Box from Influenster.
I love a good face mask. They really make your skin feel fresh and clean. I am already familiar with Boots since I follow them on Twitter and Facebook. I remember the Boots drug stores when I lived in London during college. They are such a great drug store and I wish we had the exact same thing here. They sold the best sandwiches. Their pharmacist was always friendly and helpful too. Pharmacists can prescribe medicine to you in the UK. So it came in handy when we got sick. So this mask stirs up old memories too, which is pleasant. 🙂
I took my pajamas into the bathroom (my favorite flannel plastic flamingo ones), turned on the hot water and went to work. I am starting to get a cold so the steam helped clear up my sinuses. I applied the mask and let it dry for 10 minutes.
I then jumped into the shower and rinsed it off. We have great water pressure so the stream felt so good on my face. It felt like I was at the spa. It’s the little things in life, people. I wasn’t rushed. No one had a catastrophe. After I was finished, my face felt wonderful. It was so fresh and clean. It looked great too!
You can see the pjs in this photo a little! But anyhoo, Boots Botanics Ionic Clay Mask promises to remove impurities and deeply cleanse your skin. I believe it does just that. It uses the power of plants to make you look radiant. I really like that it’s so natural and doesn’t have any weird fragrances. It willow bark in it, which naturally contains salicylic acid and removes dead skin cells. Willow bark also has anti-inflammatory properties. Sea silt, or natural oceanic clay, is also found in this mask. Clay is so great at removing oil from your skin and contains anti-inflammatory properties too. In other words, your skin won’t age prematurely. I was pleased with the results and it really helped me rejuvenate after a long day. I will be using it once a week from now on to keep my skin clean and young-looking.

I’ll be the first to admit it. When I grow my hair longer, I tend to put it up in a ponytail because it’s so much easier to take care of. I have wavy hair and since I take showers at night, when I wake up my hair is a bit of a nightmare sometimes. Because of this, I always like to use my flat iron to tame my mane. It doesn’t take too long and the results are so much better than a ponytail. I recently received the J’Adore Vox Box from Influenster, a site that sends boxes of free products in exchange for your reviews or opinions. Imagine my excitement when I saw John Frieda Frizz Ease Flat Iron Spray! This sounded like the answer to my first world problem! haha!
John Frieda Frizz Ease Flat Iron Spray claims to keep your hair straight for 3 days or until your next shampoo, whichever comes first. I chose to try it last weekend since we were busy and my hair was the last thing on my mind. Here’s a before picture to show you that I’m not lying. I’m not wearing makeup so you’ve been warned.
The way it works is you shower as usual and while your hair is wet or damp, you spray the flat iron spray throughout your hair. You brush to distribute, then blow dry. After that, you use your flat iron as you normally would. That sets the product.
Sorry about the foggy mirror photos. For some reason, I forgot the camera has that little reverse button, making life a LOT easier. You can all have a laugh at my expense.
Anyhoo, the photos show me applying the product and then each day after. It lasted two days for me, since my hair is oily and I have to wash it more frequently. I was pleased. It was one less thing I had to worry about. My hair stayed straight, after sleeping on it and after a fun-filled, jam packed weekend. It was nice and soft too. I hate it when products make your hair feel crunchy and stiff. If you too, use a flat iron, then John Frieda Flat Iron Spray makes sense!
Which hair products do you use everyday? Is there a product you can’t live without?
